The lowdown on STIs

You may see the abbreviation STD, or Sexually Transmitted Diseases, or the abbreviation STI, which stands for Sexually Transmitted Infection. Either way they are probably on your mind and something you need to be aware of if you engage in sexual intercourse without a condom.Clinics offer little to no-cost testing if you suspect you may have contracted one.

Birth Control and Safe Sex

If you decide to become sexually active the next step is choosing the right birth control for yourself or partner. Some states vary in age whether or not you can acquire forms such as the pill or ring. It's best to call your local Planned Parenthood for specific guidelines, or you may need to take a parent with you. However, to access condoms is a matter of buying them from your local drugstore or going to free clinic and picking some up. There's no need to feel embarrassed about buying condoms! The check out clerks and free clinic workers have seen it all and are not there to speculate!

What exactly IS virginity?

There is much debate on what constitutes "virginity". To many, and maybe even to you, it isn't just having straight intercourse anymore. Below I have provided some links and bibliographic resources that you can check out from your local library on the subject. Sure, I can link you to the dictionary but it's better to explore and come up with a definition that is comfortable for YOU.
